Testimonials"Hello, I am Halley Jelks, a four-year senior at Dunn. I've enjoyed my time here thoroughly. I've been exposed to many new experiences; many of which I would never have encountered if I hadn't been at Dunn. I'm a boarding student and a Prefect. That means it's my responsibility to maintain and care for the well-being of the girls in my dorm and within the whole school. I enjoy working with people and helping out in any way I can. Being a student at Dunn takes hard work and dedication, however, there is so much support from teachers, dorm heads, and friends that it makes the workload seem less difficult and less stressful. I consider the support network as one of Dunn's best qualities, and it's one of the main reasons why I like being here." "Hello, I'm Jun Young Choi, a senior and a Prefect at Dunn. This is my third year at Dunn. I remember when I first came here with my mom. When I got here, everything was very different from my home country. Actually, the first few days I was very scared. But, as I got to know the people at Dunn, I was no longer scared, because I was becoming part of the community. Now I'm a senior Prefect, a "Big Brother" to the freshmen, and friend to everyone. I didn't just have a good time at Dunn. I struggled academically because English is my second language. I even thought about going back to Korea, but what kept me here were the Dunn families. My advisor, my teachers, my Dad and Mom at Dunn (I call my dorm head Dad because I've stayed with him through three years in the same dorm). These people are always here for me and have helped me through all of my struggles. I'll never forget the experiences I've had here. Last year, when I decided to run for Prefect, it was hard for me as an international student. But, everyone encouraged me and supported me. I'm learning a lot from people about how to become a leader. Dunn School teaches me how to become a leader, but also how to be a family member to other people. Last, I'm learning about life. I know have only one more semester at Dunn. I won't just waste this time, but continue to learn as much as I can. Most important, I'll have fun with my Dunn family." |
