Alumni Welcome

If Dunn School is anything it is a family. Proudly, our family tree, nearly half a century old, is flourishing. We have our founders and pioneers (roots), our generations that followed (trunk), and the future generations (new growth). Without all of you, the alumni, our great school would be but a hollow stump. As Edward Simmons, a former headmaster wrote:

"Tradition in any institution is important. The best and strongest schools in the country, whether they be secondary or college level, are distinguished by strong, active alumni groups. No single constituency can do more to affirm and strengthen the traditions of a school than the alumni. They add vitality and momentum to a successful school. I firmly believe that the attitude of the alumni also contributes significantly to the morale and outlook of the current students and faculty, for if a school's own alumni aren't loyal, enthusiastic and involved, who will be?"

On behalf of my father, Tony Dunn, and the entire Dunn Community both past and present, I thank you for your involvement. Whether it is serving on the board, showing up to events, giving money, leading an assembly, hosting a school gathering, serving as class agent, or simply staying in touch... your acts of caring keep our Dunn family vital and strong.

—Michael A. Dunn

Staying Connected

While you were a student at Dunn School we hope that through the support of the Dunn community you found a "connection" to something in life that you continued to pursue after graduation. As a Dunn alumnus, we hope that one of the connections you sustain in your life is a connection to the Dunn School community. Many things change over the years after graduation, but one thing will remain the same. That is the memories, relationships, values and interests that you cultivated as a student at Dunn. To help keep you connected to those memories and to Dunn we encourage you to participate in the following activities:

  • Dunn's Alumni Community
Keep Dunn in touch with you, keep in touch with classmates, and post and read your class notes using the Dunn online alumni community. Volunteer to be a class agent and help Dunn School keep in touch with your classmates.

  • Visit Dunn campus
Dunn's campus has changed greatly over the last ten years. Contact the Development Office to notify us if you would like to visit campus, catch a lacrosse game, or just come by!

  • Alumni reunion
Every year Dunn hosts a reunion to which all Dunn alumni are invited. For information on this year's reunion, see Alumni Reunion.

  • Be a speaker
Do you have an interesting story to share with Dunn faculty and students? Perhaps you have words of advice on life post-Dunn, career choices, or other expertise to share with students in class? Come back to campus to share your experiences.

  • Donations
Giving back to Dunn in-kind or financially greatly helps the school fulfill its mission. For more information on the various ways to donate to Dunn please refer to the Dunn Guide to Philanthropic Opportunities.

  • Volunteer
Volunteering is a great way to get to know the people at Dunn. Opportunities include library help, Earwig Ball, fundraising and organizing other events such as Alumni Reunion and regional alumni gatherings.

  • Mentoring
Current students could greatly benefit from the experience of a Dunn alumnus who has been in their shoes before.

  • Recruitment
We welcome alumni involvement in targeting students and families to come to Dunn School. You are invited to attend admissions fairs and/or host recruitment events in your region. If you know someone we should contact, please fill out a referral form.
