Orcutt Academy 1

The Dunn Earwigs (2-1) hosted the Orcutt Academy Spartans and defeated them 25-8, 20-25, 25-17, 25-8 in four games. Senior captains, Kory Chomeau (35 assists, 10 aces, 9 kills) and Logan Kado (61 sets, 21 straight serves) paced the ’wigs. Sophmore Eric Woytowicz led the ’wigs with 12 kills and Senior Dan McCormick had 10 kills. Dunn hosts Ojai Valley in a home league contest next Wednesday.

Dunn Boys Varsity Volleyball Victorious!

The Dunn Boys’ Varsity Volleyball team started their season on Saturday, with a great victory over Ojai Valley School winning in 3 straight games: 25-16, 25-17, 25-17. The team had a remarkable serving match, hitting on 94% of all serves. Leading the way for the Earwigs were seniors Logan Kado and Kory Chomeau. Setter Kado had 57 sets with no misses and had a run of 11 straight serve points in Game 2. Chomeau had 18 serves for the match with no misses and led the team with 12 kills. John Estey played error free ball with his serving, bumping, and kills. New to the game, Sophomore Eric Woytowicz, had a run of 10 straight winning kills and will be a force to reckon with the rest of the season. Solid games were performed by Chad Marchi, David Jensen, and Dan McCormick. Coach Judycki said, “I think that was one of the best first games in a very long time.” Go VB Earwigs!!!

Earwigs defeated by Pirates

The Dunn boys’ varsity volleyball team (1-1) played a tough Santa Ynez JV volleyball team on Thursday losing 15-25, 21-25,19-25. Team captains, Kado & Chomeau, led the team with Kado setting at 98% and 93% of serves with Chomeau serving at a spectacular 100% and a two match total of 39-0. Seniors David Jensen notched 26 passes and Alex LuMetta had 4 blocks. Supporting players: Woytowicz, Estey, Marchi, Moore, Hill and Morgan all contributed to the effort. Next up for the ‘wigs will be a home match on Wed. (3/17) vs Orcutt Charter School.
