Health ServicesThe Dunn School Health Services' mission is to provide medical resources that will enhance the well being of each student. These resources include a school nurse, a respiratory therapist, and CPR/First Aid trained faculty. We have liaisons with Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital, Country Medical Clinic, Star Drugs, and various local specialists. We encourage each student to actively take part in his or her own well-being and healthcare through preventive measures, including current immunizations, yearly physicals and education concerning health issues. In addition to on-campus care, Alan Hersh, M.D., of the Country Medical Clinic will see students on campus and in his office without charge for the visits. You and your physician are welcome to contact him at any time at (805) 688-3440. When laboratory tests or X-rays are necessary, Country Medical Clinic will make every effort to work with your insurance. If your insurance requires the use of a specific primary care provider or group, you will need to make those arrangements prior to school beginning. Dunn School will not be responsible for any medical billing. Please provide a copy of both sides of your insurance card to the school so the health care provider can bill your insurance directly. All students must have a credit card on file that can be used for all pharmacy and medical charges not covered by insurance. For further information regarding Health Care Services, such as Dunn's Sick Policy and other policies concerning health matters, please refer to the Student Handbook or call the school at (805) 688 6471. |
