Dunn was founded by an entrepreneur, and we've been teaching the principles of business for more than 65 years and now features real investing with a live portfolio.
Located in Santa Barbara County, along California's beautiful Central Coast, our campus extends beyond Los Olivos with Outdoor Education at the start of every school year.
For more than 65 years, Dunn has stayed true to its mission to educate the whole student. It's a philosophy that encompasses more than just the classroom, helping students discover the person they are becoming mentally, physically, and emotionally - preparing them for college and, more importantly, for beyond.
Through inspiring wilderness adventures, Dunn students build confidence, character, and community. Our location-- which gives us easy access to the high desert, snow-capped peaks, dozens of National and State parks (and that's just in California!), and hundreds of miles of rugged coastline-- sets our Outdoor Education program apart. Our diverse landscapes create opportunities for student growth beyond the classroom through week-long, grade-level trips and weekend offerings.
Mini Term is an exploratory week that offers all students a chance to choose from numerous intensive and immersive academic and physical experiences. Whether students stay on campus or journey across the globe, the goal is to finish the week with an in-depth understanding of a focused topic.
Nearly 40 student orators from six different regional schools — elementary, middle, and secondary — competed Sunday and Monday at Dunn School in the inaugural Martin Luther King Jr. Speech Invitational Tournament.
