Nurturing Health and Well-Being

Our Health Services Office (HSO) is dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of our students. With an experienced staff and a comprehensive approach, we ensure that every student's medical needs are addressed promptly and effectively.

Conveniently located on the upper campus, the HSO is at the heart of student life. Under the leadership of our Director of Health Services, our team is equipped to handle medical concerns and illnesses. All health office staff, as well as faculty and staff, are certified in American Red Cross CPR and First Aid, ensuring a high level of care and safety.

Promoting Preventive Health

We encourage students to take an active role in their health through preventive measures such as flu vaccinations, yearly physicals, and up-to-date immunizations. Our team is always available to discuss health concerns, and we regularly provide workshops and printed materials to educate the student body on various health topics.

Comprehensive Medical Support

Students can receive both over-the-counter and prescribed medications as approved by their licensed health care provider and parent. We utilize an electronic health record system to maintain student medical and immunization records, which is also accessible to parents, ensuring seamless communication and care.

Emergency and Specialized Care

In the event of an emergency, the Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital in Solvang is just minutes away. We have strong partnerships with local pediatricians and specialists, ensuring our students receive the best possible care. Additionally, in collaboration with our Director of Counseling Services, we can arrange psychological counseling appointments with mental health professionals, providing comprehensive support for our students' well-being.

Seamless Communication

Our office acts as a liaison to facilitate communication between healthcare providers, students, parents, and other members of the professional community. At Dunn School, we are committed to fostering a supportive environment where students feel cared for and empowered to take charge of their health.
