Endowments

Established in 1975 and significantly strengthened by generous gifts from the Edward E. Ford Foundation in 1984 and George and Leanne Roberts in 1988, this fund provides financial aid to help ensure that future generations of students have the opportunity to attend Dunn.

Established in 1978, this fund supports Dunn faculty by providing resources for professional development, including teaching conferences and workshops, helping educators bring new ideas and exceptional teaching to the classroom.

Established in 2003 by students, parents, alumni, faculty, trustees, and friends, this fund honors longtime Dunn educator Nancy Roome and supports students and faculty in the Learning Strategies program through financial aid, professional development, faculty support, and educational outreach.

Established in 2005 by Eric Roberts, Stephane de Bord, and Lucia Overgaag in memory of Paul Overgaag ’89, this fund honors Paul’s lasting influence at Dunn through support for the School’s spelling bee and need-based scholarship assistance for boarding students who have demonstrated resilience or helped others overcome significant challenges.

Established in 2008 by the Page and Otto Marx, Jr. Foundation, this fund provides scholarship support for American minority students whose families demonstrate a personal commitment to contributing toward the cost of their child’s education.

Established in 2011, this student-managed fund invests proceeds from Earwig Incorporated with the long-term goal of supporting student scholarships and the operating needs of the School.

Established in 2013 by Brett VanSteenwyk, parent of Emma ’13, this fund provides scholarship support for students who qualify for Dunn’s Learning Strategies program and demonstrate financial need.

Established in 2014 by Wendy and Barry Rowland, grandparents of Kelsey ’06 and Sara ’09, this fund provides scholarship support and related educational assistance for qualified and deserving students from the continent of Africa.

Established in 2014 through the generosity of the Roberts family, this fund supports Dunn’s Leadership Program and helps ensure that leadership development remains an intentional and meaningful part of the student experience.

Established in 2020, this fund was created to endow a leadership position and ensure that responsible leadership remains a core and intentional part of Dunn School’s curriculum.

Established in 2024 through gifts from alumni in honor of Ralph Lowe ’70, this fund supports a Humanities faculty position and carries forward Ralph’s passion for literature, creative writing, student travel, and beloved Dunn traditions.

Established in 2025 through the generosity of Robert Lieff, this endowed scholarship supports day-student tuition and related educational costs for deserving students, expanding access to the transformative opportunities of a Dunn education.
