Dunn School Welcomes New Development Officer With an Uncanny Name
Dunn School welcomes a new development officer to campus this summer, and her last name is very familiar.
LynnRae Dunn joins the Development Office as our first Director of Major Gifts. But she has no relation to the family who founded the school in 1957.
LynnRae brings 15 years of fundraising experience to Dunn, most recently serving as a Director of Development for the Law School at Loyola Marymount University. Before that, she served as Associate Vice President of Advancement at San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, Calif. At Dunn, she will focus on outreach and cultivation of new resources for the school and the on-going Leading Matters Campaign.
“I've spent much of my professional career fundraising for schools because I have seen the power and hope provided to students through a good education,” she says. “I am honored to put my skills and experience to use at Dunn School where generations of students have benefited from all that is offered here.”
“What is truly inspiring, though, is the way Dunn School is transforming education for the next generation of students,” she adds.
“We’re fortunate to have someone of LynnRae’s talent and experience joining Dunn in this capacity,” says Head of School Mike Beck. “She is the right person to establish this new and much-needed position at Dunn, and we look forward to the impact she will have on the lives of our students and teachers.”
The independent school is in the final stages of its “Leading Matters Campaign,” a $10.1 million effort to support scholarships, curriculum, and a new leadership center on the school’s Los Olivos campus. Dunn has raised $9.6 million in gifts and pledges in recent years toward the effort, and plans to break ground on the Bronfman Leadership Center later this year.
LynnRae says she is looking forward to meeting other parents (her son is a student in the Middle School), as well as alumni, friends and supporters of the school. You can reach LynnRae by email or at 805-686-0627.
