Guy R. Walker '76

Board Chair

I love Dunn because it's a community of teachers and learners
 

Born in Los Angeles, raised in Compton, Calif., Guy attended public schools until transferring to Dunn School in the Fall 1973 of his sophomore year and becoming a student-leader and student-athlete. He attended Vassar College & USC before graduating from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Economics, PoliSci, & Black Studies. Guy worked for 10 years as an accountant before starting Wealth Management Strategies, a Financial Services business, in 1994. He married Molly Carrillo in 1984 and has two adult children, Gary & Cianna (Dunn grad '05). He is active in the non-profit world, serving on numerous boards.

Stephane de Bord '90

Stephane attended UC Santa Cruz, earning a bachelor's degree in Economics, and Fordham University, where he earned his MBA. Stephane started his career in Finance working for JP Morgan Chase in New York City and then spent 6 years working for a Private Equity firm in San Francisco. Today, Stephane spends his time on entrepreneurial projects primarily in the energy and transportation sectors. Stephane spent more than 10 years as a Board Member of the French American and International School in San Francisco and was the Treasurer for a good part of his tenure there.

Karen Anderson

I love Dunn because it educates the whole child, unleashing each individual student's potential to become an innovative and confident leader
 

Karen, parent of Dunn graduate Morgan (2022), is the General Counsel at Verifone, the global leader in secure electronic payment solutions. Before joining Verifone, she led litigation groups at Flextronics International and Intuit and has also represented technology companies in a wide variety of intellectual property, commercial, and employment disputes as a litigation attorney at Fenwick & West. She is a graduate of Stanford Law School and Princeton University and resides in the Bay Area.

Yong-Ling Beiman

Trustee

I love Dunn because it has provided an excellent education, organized around Dunn’s Core Values, for my daughter, who is well rounded and manages herself in a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle.
 

Yong-Ling was a management consultant for 20 years in China and is professionally recognized as a strategy management expert. Yong-Ling co-founded and developed two successful consulting firms in China. The first consulting firm was acquired by Hewitt Associates, and the second firm was acquired by PRTM Consulting. PRTM was subsequently acquired by PwC Consulting (China/HK), where Yong-Ling served as a partner, practice leader and executive committee member.

From 1989 to 1993, Yong-Ling worked for Wellington Management Company, a Boston-based money management firm, where she was responsible for business development in Asia. Yong-Ling earned an MBA from Duke University, a BA degree from Salem College in the U.S., and a DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) in a Sino-American joint program in China.

Mike Boone '79

Mike graduated from both Stanford University and Oxford University. He is an entrepreneur with a love for starting and selling consumer products companies with a personal focus on marketing and branding. He is devoted to the decorative arts and architecture, philosophy, traveling and anyone who can make him think or laugh.

Justin Ching '07

I love Dunn because my career was born in the barn
 

Justin is a Forbes 30 Under 30 award-winning writer-director. Most recently, he directed the featurette for the Oscar-nominated film THE MITCHELLS VS. THE MACHINES. Previously, he worked on Netflix’s crime series HEIST and developed feature films for Steven Spielberg’s production company Amblin Entertainment. Prior to this, he was a Showrunner at FOX. He began his career at Disney before moving to YouTube, where he helped develop channels for VICE, Buzzfeed, and Jay-Z's Life + Times. In his spare time, Ching is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California.

Jay Conger

I love Dunn because it is a community where learning is not just about the world around us but the unique world within each of us
 

Jay Conger is the Henry R. Kravis Chaired Professorship of Leadership Studies at Claremont McKenna College. Author of fifteen books and over one hundred articles on leadership and boards, Jay is one of the world's experts on organizational leadership. In addition, he coaches executives across a wide range of fields. He graduated from the Harvard Business School with a doctorate in Organizational Behavior. He earned his MBA from the University of Virginia and an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Dartmouth College. He is the proud father of two Dunn School graduates — Zoe (2017) and Nathan Conger (2020). He served as Chair of the Dunn School Board from 2019 to 2022.

Stephen Dini '89

I love Dunn because it changed my life
 

A champion of creating communities and opportunities for children, Steve has been working in and around schools for more than 30 years. Currently, Steve is Director of Advancement at the French American and International School in San Francisco, a PK-12 independent school with 1,100 students. Prior to his time at FAIS, Steve was at the University of San Francisco, where he was Director of Parent Relations in the Office of Development. He has also served as Director of External Advancement, Director of Alumni Relations, Regional Development Officer at UC Berkeley and as Director of Alumni Relations, Annual Fund and Athletics at Dunn. He has experience both regionally and nationally as a speaker at fundraising conferences and has presented on Annual Giving, Parent Engagement and International Fundraising. Prior to his time doing institutional advancement, Steve had a career in financial services and was also an accomplished lacrosse coach for 20 seasons. He has coached at every level from Youth, High School, Club and at the NCAA Div. II level. He holds a bachelor's degree from California State University, Chico. Steve has received numerous awards for the things he is most passionate about, including the 2019 Alumni of the Year honors from Dunn; Hall of Fame inductions for both the US Lacrosse Nor-Cal Chapter, and the Chico State Men's Lacrosse program; and World’s Best Dad title from his twin daughters, Anne and Louisa.

Autumn Badelt-Fanning '99

I love Dunn because education should be as Dunn allows it to be: collaborative, creative, intimate and at the same time expansive
 

Dr. Badelt-Fanning grew up in the Santa Ynez Valley. She was a prefect at Dunn School and graduated with the honor of the Trophy of Excellence in 1999. She went on to procure her doctorate in Veterinary medicine from Oregon State University and became the Founder and CEO of her own mobile veterinary service in 2010. Autumn grew that service to multiple locations, maintained investors, and recently, the business was acquired by a national organization. Autumn is currently the Regional Operations Director for BetterVet’s California region and is approached regularly to consult in the Veterinary field. Autumn has four children, Aspen, Wren, Katelyn and Robert. Aspen attends Dunn Middle School and Wren is currently at The Family School. Her two stepchildren, Katelyn and Robert attend Chaminade middle and high school respectively, in Los Angeles. Her husband Steve is the founder and CEO of a large pharmaceutical consultancy that operates internationally.

Tina Grunzweig

I love Dunn because it is a portal to the wider world offering exposure to internationally diverse students and faculty
 

Tina is a lifelong California resident, save for two years spent in London before she and her family made the Santa Ynez Valley their home. Tina got her bachelor's degree from UCLA in 1992 and her JD from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1997. After practicing corporate law with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Tina became senior legal officer of a startup called PeopleSupport.Com, which she helped prepare for eventual IPO. Retired since starting her family, Tina and her husband Jonathan Grunzweig are the parents of three boys, including two Dunn attendees: Jackson (Dunn Class of 2020) and Bernard (Dunn Class of 2023). Tina resides within a stone's throw of Dunn's campus, and oversees a substantial organic farming operation in addition to a myriad collection of animals.

Jodi Pitts

I love Dunn because it has brought new and unique experiences and learning opportunities to my daughter's life, and she has grown tremendously because of it.
 

Jodi and her husband Sean live in Santa Ynez with their two children, Gracie (Class of 2026) and Davey. Jodi attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she graduated with a degree in marketing from the business school. She went on to work in Public Relations for Starwood Hotels and Resorts in New York and then moved into various positions within Colony Capital, where she currently is a director, planning and overseeing their annual investor conference. A native of the Santa Ynez Valley, Jodi is thrilled to be back home. She and her family own and run Happy Canyon Vineyard, where Sean is the executive winemaker. Jodi is passionate about the Dunn community and honored to be serving as a trustee!

Maria Zhang

Maria Zhang is Vice President of Engineering at Google. Prior to that, she servoed in the same capacity at Instagram. Maria was also Vice President of Engineering for LinkedIn Talent Solutions (LTS) and Careers, which helps recruiters connect with quality talent and connects job-seekers with opportunity. Maria worked as CTO at Tinder, where she built a world-class team of engineers and scaled the app to serve a rapidly growing global user base. Maria also worked as Vice President of Engineering for Yahoo Mobile, and managed teams at Microsoft, Zillow.com and NetIQ Corp. She also founded Alike, a mobile local recommendation app, which was later acquired by Yahoo. She studied Computer Science at Tsinghua University and graduated Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor and Master’s degree.
